The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo 2011
A couple of our members have participated with the Crossed Swords Pipes & Drums in this prestigious Tattoo. Read their experiences at our weblog.
Change of name (from Amsterdam Branch to the Netherlands)
As a result of the amalgamation of the three formerly in The Netherlands registered Branches to The Royal British Legion, Holland Branch, the name of our Band is changed. With permission of The Royal British Legion in Londen our name from June 2011 is The Pipes & Drums of The Royal British Legion, the Netherlands.
We are the only registered Royal British Legion Band in the Netherlands.
Jubilee celebration
This year it’s the 10th year anniversary of the Band and this joyful event will be celebrated with a Celtic/Scottish Festival on October 8th at Huis te Eerbeek in Eerbeek.
More information on this festival will follow shortly on this website and the website of www.fletcherhoteleerbeek.nl.
Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds
Also because of a fantastic donation of the Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds we were able to purchase new Pearl Drums. We chose the colour Twilight Fade. We are very grateful to the Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds that they care to support us. 'The Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds gives culture a chance'.
